316L Stainless Steel Anode Tube for Wet Electrostatic Precipitator
Product Overview
Our 316L stainless steel anode tube is a widely used collecting electrode module for wet electrostatic precipitators and electric tar precipitators. It is suitable for power plants, steel mills, chemical plants, coking plants, carbon plants, ceramic kilns, biomass boilers, waste incineration, acid washing lines and other systems where flue gas contains moisture, chloride ions, acid mist, tar mist, oil mist or condensable aerosols.
316L stainless steel contains molybdenum, which significantly improves resistance to chloride pitting and crevice corrosion compared with 304 stainless steel. This makes it a preferred material for WESP systems installed after wet desulfurization, scrubbers or absorption towers, where saturated flue gas often carries chloride salts, acid mist and sticky submicron particles.
Why Choose 316L for WESP Anode Tubes
Molybdenum-enhanced corrosion resistance: 316L resists chloride pitting and crevice corrosion better than 304, making it suitable for wet flue gas containing chloride ions.
Proven performance in wet desulfurization polishing: widely applied in terminal purification after wet scrubbing, desulfurization and acid gas treatment systems.
Stable conductivity: stainless steel provides reliable electrical conductivity without coating degradation, supporting uniform corona discharge and stable long-term operation.
Smooth inner surface: polished tube walls facilitate water film formation, tar drainage and flushing cleaning, reducing fouling and blockage risk.
Good weldability and formability: suitable for laser cutting, rolling, automatic welding and modular assembly into honeycomb anode bundles.
Structure & Working Principle
Honeycomb hexagonal anode tube: multiple hexagonal tubes are arranged into a compact bundle, providing high space utilization and uniform electric field distribution.
Grounded collecting electrode: the anode tube bundle is connected to ground and serves as the positive precipitation surface for fine particles and mist droplets.
Cooperation with discharge electrode: a central discharge electrode generates corona discharge, charging PM2.5, acid mist, tar mist, oil mist and aerosols.
Wet flushing cleaning: circulating water or process liquid forms a continuous film on the inner tube wall, washing captured pollutants into the drain and preventing electrode fouling.

FAQ
Why is 316L stainless steel preferred over 304 for WESP anode tubes?
Because 316L contains molybdenum, which provides better resistance to chloride pitting and crevice corrosion in wet flue gas environments.
Can 316L anode tubes be used for tar mist removal?
Yes. They are widely used in electric tar precipitators and WESP systems to remove tar mist, oil mist, acid mist, PM2.5 and fine particulate matter.
When should 2205 duplex stainless steel be chosen instead?
2205 is recommended for high-chloride, high-humidity or severe corrosion conditions where higher PREN value and stress corrosion cracking resistance are required.
Can the anode module be customized?
Yes. Tube diameter, length, wall thickness, module quantity, material grade and connection structure can be customized according to actual process conditions.
